Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Bakersfield, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 amβ8 pm. Bakersfield is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Bakersfield follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I've been there twice, 2 months after they first opened. The place is new, ambiance is good. Went there around 3PM and there was a short line and waited for 10 minutes. The servers are friendly and respectful. As a Filipino foodie, I can say the food tastes good especially the lumpiang Shanghai. It is so crispy and perfectly cooked and seasoned. The vegetable lumpia was crispy as well and skin has perfect thickness however the vegetables inside was a letdown. They used the frozen trio of carrots, peas and corn :-( It would have been perfect if they use the traditional vegetable mixture in there like cabbage, bean sprouts, carrots, baguio beans, celery and sweet potato. The pansit was good but a little soggy. The barbecues are yummy and the rest of the dishes are at par. For the drinks like Sago and buko pandan, it could have been better. It needs more essence and sweetness. These are constructive criticisms coz I want them to improve and be better.

The food was absolutely amazing! All the meats were very flavorful and tender. Lumpia was on point. Garlic rice was cooked perfectly. My favorite was definitely the pineapple pork.

I've read plenty of mixed reviews and I was compelled to find out what the fuss is all about. Prior to heading over, I checked the store hours online and went in on a Sunday evening around 6ish and at first glance, I was unsure if the establishment is open due to the business sign not being illuminated but walked in anyways. No customer was in sight but a male staff was mopping the floor and mentioned that they are still open. A young lady helped us and my wife ordered the "fiesta plate" with garlic fried rice/pancit, bistek, pork bbq stick and additional pork bbq stick plus fountain drink.. I had the "fiesta plate as well with the garlic fried rice/pancit and dinuguan, and pork adobo, no drink... this amounted to $52 and change, tax included.. tip separate... the base price for the fiesta plate is $16 and in fairness, I noted the additional charge for the other dishes that is clearly indicated but it cost too much in my humble opinion for an "upgrade". Had it been truly a premium or a breakout/specialty dish then by all means... I have tasted some of your dishes and ordered in the past during a couple of occassions and the food was delicious and we are appeciative and thankful but

Honestly, the best Filipino food Iβve had in a long time. Everything we ordered at Sarap was a hit, but the lumpia was the real standoutβperfectly crispy and didn't last five minutes at the table. The sisig was also spot on and my personal favorite. It was pretty busy when I went but the staff were really friendly and the portions were filling. Definitely has that "home-cooked" feel that's hard to find. If youβre in Bakersfield and want authentic Filipino food, this is a must-try. You won't regret it!

I might be disowned as a Filipino, but after five visits, I think the pork belly plate is the best. It even beats out the adobo plate. Everything on the menu is amazing. when ordering itβs a little bit confusing at first because thereβs two restaurants in the same venue, but you could get a drink while you wait. I wouldβve added a photo with the review, but I eat it too fast. 4 months later they open their new spot off Coffee and Olive. I wish I gate kept this spot a little because all the desserts keep getting sold out. They expanded their menu. I dont have to call my mom anymore for authentic Filipino food its so good.
